He offers a shrug back, but it's fairly obvious what she's doing. While he may not overtly acknowledge it, he's grateful nonetheless. It's a wonder why she goes through such things to protect his ego, really. Perhaps it's just part of having his back, another one of these partner things. Not something he'd originally have thought of, but he does appreciate it.
