She doesn't quite freeze, when he pulls back, but she does pause, wait. Drives her a little nuts to feel this passive, but he hasn't said what he wants and she's kind of afraid to ask. She just doesn't want to start the morning off with shit being all weird, this is so much better.

Apparently he just needed a breather, and a short one. Good, fine, she can deal with that. She stretches a little against his hand, just enough to be appreciative because she can't really move any more than that. But at least she can kiss him, and if he's coming on stronger she'll be a little more herself about it, a little more bold as her hand drifts from his hair to resting against his neck.

He's not sure what he wants. Right now he's just going with the feelings in the moment, with some unconscious goal to make her happy, keep her smiling. He doesn't quite get deeper than that, though. While the body is willing, the mind still hesitates. He doesn't shy from anything she's doing, but he finds himself unable to fully engage.

Still, he's tried to give her as much as himself as he can. However small amount it is, it's a freely given and sincere action. Slowly, gently, he breaks away and rests his forehead on hers. He's trying not to be weird. He's trying.

It's nice. She's not going to push him for more; why would she? Orion's her friend, she cares about him so much, she doesn't want him to feel bad. When he pulls back, she goes back to combing her fingers through his hair, because that's nice too. Comfortable.

It's always been an if you want to, we can thing. If. Not an I want this and will be mad if I don't get it. She can be pretty self-centered about getting laid, but that's with people she doesn't really care about. She's also not expecting Orion to go from zero to fucking in a single morning. After all he's said, he really doesn't seem like that kind of guy.

"Good morning," she says.

It's immeasurable how much he appreciates that she doesn't press. He's misread her and the situation and if this is fine? He can handle this. He winds both arms around her and pulls her in for a ginger hug, one hand supporting her shoulders and the other at the back of her head, lightly stroking fingers through her hair.

"Good morning to you too."

Wrath wraps her arms around him for a return hug. She kind of hates it when people handle her like she'll break, but if she's being honest with herself, she kind of might, right now. It's a nice hug, though, a warm one, and it feels like stuff is finally back to their kind of normal. "Feeling better?"

He holds on for a moment, because it is nice. It's very nice, and then pulls in a breath and lets it out in a contented sigh. He shifts back so he an look at her properly.

"Yeah ... much better."

"Good." She moves her hand to cup his cheek. "You're important to me, Orion. And the most important thing is that we're okay. Don't think I expect anything else out of you, all right?"

It's comforting, to hear, and he nods. He's not going to pretend it means anything less.

"Thank you, Wrath. You're important to me, too. I prefer to be Okay with you."

"Well. Good. Since we're living together. It would get super awkward otherwise."

She snuggles in closer, content with that. It's a different thing for her, really. But at least it's not confusing.

"Mmm. I'm not a fan of super awkward." Slightly awkward? Maybe. Not not super. He wraps his arms around her again and holds her close, nestling his chin against her head.

She laughs. "See, we agree on the important stuff."

Since she's right there, she nuzzles into his collarbone, breathes out a happy little sigh.
