Maybe once Whiskey's back. They won't really give me jack shit since I'm not in any more.

It's... a fucking awful sound, Carolina. He sounds really hurt. I don't know exactly what time. But he remembers me, and Orion. And... I know that shit goes down with him. York told me he wasn't really Maine any more after a while. But... he's definitely still Maine. I know he is.

Okay, I bet he'd like to see him. He likes seeing all you guys, even if he's a grouchy asshole about everything.

Here's hoping that'll be sooner rather than later.

Yeah. It is. It was a mission injury. Ended up shot up when watching my back, took out his throat. Couldn't speak any more. [a beat; you better believe she carries guilt about that in her own fashion] But if he remembers you, then he can't be that far gone, time wise.

Hopefully that's still the case. We'll see how he reacts when he seems us in person.

Wow. That's... fucked up. And super impressive. [That Maine survived that.] Wonder why he can't talk now, though. Since I think physically, he's fine?

He... didn't really remember me right away, but I think he was just confused. Scared the shit out of me. [Understatement of the century.]

Okay. I'll definitely hang out until you see how he is.

He's always had a habit of coming back from things that should have killed him. He and Wash share that trait. [and so does she, somewhat. But she's not going to mention that now] Could be psychosomatic. His mind remembers how his body was, and though it's fine here, the connections are still not firing. We'd need a proper doctor to say for sure.

[perhaps with time, he'd relearn. It was hard to guess for something like that.]

Yeah. The port comas are worrying enough without someone coming out of it with side effects no one else has had. [yet. or perhaps they'd gone undocumented?]

All right. I'll get back to you once I've spoken to Wash.

Glad to hear it. He's tough, so that's good. And yeah, that makes sense. Maybe Whiskey can take a look at him once he's back and feeling okay.

He's pretty freaked out, I think. Even if he'd never admit it because he's a dumb boy.
