[The last thing Orion was expecting was for her to come see him directly, and he's not prepared for it. He fumbles with the book he's currently pulling out to drop in his bag, recovers, and chuckles nervously.]

Yeah, I guess I should have. You seemed pretty busy though, didn't want to interrupt. [it was only half the answer, though. He'd been so much more confident at his old school.] But, uh ... well ... Hi?

No one's too busy for hi, at least not in high school. So are you shy, or do you just think I'm a scary jerk?

[She grins.]

I don't think you're a jerk. [Easy way of saying Oh hey yes in this particular moment I am shy as hell thank you for noticing.

He takes some time arranging the books in his bag and then closes his locker and spins the dial.] I mean, I don't know you, so I guess you could be a jerk? But you seem really nice with your friends, so ... I doubt you're a jerk. I mean, uh. I'm Orion.

Well good. I don't think I'm a jerk. [She kind of is at times, really, because she's a bit of a troublemaker.]

Everyone's really nice to their friends though, right? So I could secretly be a jerk and now you're talking to me.

Like the constellation? My name Sarah.

Yeah, my parents thought I'd be a famous archer or something. [He shrugs.] I'm on the wrestling team, close enough, right?

So, why Sarah? [He shifts the bag up over his shoulders and smiles at her. If she proved to be a jerk, well. At least they had one nice conversation?]

I wanted to be on the wrestling team. [She grins.] Made all the boys super uncomfortable so I did fencing instead. Every try archery?

Because my dads are boring.

Ah, boys can be so stupid. [He gives a dismissive wave, but yeah he's blushing a little, just the idea of sidling up against her and -- ahem. Yeah. No reason it'd make anyone uncomfortable.

But fencing, though, that's cool.]

What, like ... intentionally boring? [He glances at his watch. Speaking of parents, his were expecting him home from school ... or at least a call if he's going to be late. They were pretty chill parents as long as the lines of communication were open and clear.] So what're you up to now?

Yeah, just a little.

I think they do it on purpose, yeah, just to make me nuts. And they tell the worst dad jokes too.

Done with club practice for today, so nothing special. Thought I might do some training. What about you?

Oh geez, Dad Jokes in stereo! How do you survive? [He can't help but laugh at the idea.]

Dinner at six, free until then. Do you .... want to hang out? [He could always do homework after dinner. Or when he's supposed to be sleeping. Or tomorrow morning.]

Earbuds. And rolling my eyes a lot, man. You can't risk encouraging that kind of stuff.

[Well, she should train, but... why not. Always got to have time for friends. That's important.] Yeah, I'm out by six, but we could hang out til then.
